Recruitment?<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> 2. Retention?<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> 3. Credibility?<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> 4. Parent Loyalty?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #006600;\"><strong>Who are your competitors?<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> 5. Are they other <em>yeshivot<\/em> and day schools?<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> 6. Are they public schools?<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> 7. Are they elite private and independent schools?<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> 8. <span style=\"color: #006600;\"><strong>Look<\/strong><\/span> at your answers to the above six questions and then <span style=\"color: #006600;\"><strong>ask<\/strong><\/span> yourself: does your PR address your challenges consistently?<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> 9. If you need to recruit: does your PR calendar consider admissions, Open House, and enrollment schedules? <span style=\"color: #006600;\"><strong>A huge PR blast highlighting your strengths AFTER enrollment deadlines wastes time, effort, and money.<\/strong><\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> 10. If you lose students at specific grades, for example, middle school, your PR needs to focus on specific skills gained during those grades that will not be mastered by students who opt out.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> 11. If you compete with independent schools, <span style=\"color: #006600;\"><strong>you need to make the case for Jewish day school education on a regular basis<\/strong><\/span>. Highlighting your excellent secular education will not suffice. You must document how your students thrive in the secular world as educated, committed, proud Jews.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> 12. If you compete with other <em>yeshivot<\/em>, <span style=\"color: #006600;\"><strong>you need to address concerns that keep potential parents up at<\/strong> night.<\/span> How does your school address those issues in ways that your competitors do not? How do you differ from your competitors?<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> 13. \u00a0<span style=\"color: #006600;\"><strong>Are you complacent? Don\u2019t be.<\/strong> <\/span>A few years ago, I spoke with a principal who said, \u201cOur classes are full, so we don\u2019t need PR.
